Youth Environment Education Program We have launched our Youth Environment Education Project (YEEP) in Brazzaville on May. One of our objectives is to work for environment protection, and we have chosen to do so by educating future leaders on environment issues. AZUR will work with youth to sensitize them and share information about environment issues to 60 students in 2 schools. YEEP targets children from 6 to 15 years and will use creative methods to educate them about environment using a guide produced by UNEP and AEO for Youth materials. This project is funded on a cost sharing basis with schools involved, AZUR provides local transportation for youth volunteers implementing the project and training materials. By investing in this project, AZUR hopes to develop a core set of youth advocates for environment in the country. Schools are also willing to include environment education in their curriculum next year. It is planned that the project will be implemented in other areas of Congo.
